Safeguarding links with Birmingham MASH/Local Authority/other schools

  • In 2014-2015,  the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) took the opportunity to tour the new local Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub and meet the people involved there. Following on from this, the DSL spent a full day working in the MASH team to gain first-hand experience of the challenges faced there on a daily basis.
  • The Headteacher and the Lead DSL completes the Section 175 Safeguarding audit for the Local Authority on time each year
  • The Lead DSL and the centre DSL's attend all local and city-wide safeguarding briefings run by the local authority where important information is disseminated. All of this information is then distributed to staff and governors via our regular Leadership Meetings or our Management Committee meetings.
  • The Lead DSL has presented on safeguarding issues at numerous local conferences and has represented COBS on a range of strategic committee's in the city.
